Union Station is the hub of the entire GO Transit rail network, all seven corridors, Lakeshore West, Lakeshore East, Milton, Kitchener, Barrie, Richmond Hill, and Stouffville, start or end here. It's also where UP Express to Pearson departs, where the TTC's Line 1 subway and streetcars connect, and where VIA Rail's intercity trains arrive, making it one of the busiest transit interchanges in the country. Nearly every GO trip that isn't a direct suburb-to-suburb connection passes through Union at some point, either as the final destination or as the transfer point to another line entirely. The station itself sits at the foot of downtown Toronto's Financial District, within walking distance of the Rogers Centre, the CN Tower, and the harbourfront. Reroute treats Union as what it is, a transfer hub rather than an endpoint, so trips through it get planned with the connection already worked out.
