Danforth serves Toronto's Riverdale and east-end neighbourhoods on the Lakeshore East line, sitting just past Union on the way toward Scarborough. Weekday trains start at 5:51 a.m. and run past midnight into the next day; weekend service begins later, around 8:28 a.m. Because it's so close to downtown, Danforth draws a different kind of rider than the suburban stops further out on this corridor: many walk or take a short TTC ride to reach the platform rather than driving in. Reroute plans that local connection alongside the GO trip itself, so a rider coming from elsewhere in the east end sees the walk or transit leg to Danforth worked into the same itinerary as the train.
