Terms & Conditions

Acceptance

By using Reroute (the “Service”), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Beta software

Reroute is provided as beta software for evaluation purposes. The UI, UX, routing engine, delay predictions, fare calculations, and every feature are still being developed and iterated on. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

Routes are estimates

All times, distances, costs, fares, delay risk estimates, parking rates, and route suggestions displayed by Reroute are estimates. They are derived from public transit schedules (GTFS), real-time feeds (GTFS-RT), third-party APIs (Mapbox, Open-Meteo), our self-hosted MOTIS routing engine, and internal ML models. None of these sources guarantee perfect accuracy.

Always confirm critical trip details with the relevant transit agency's official app, website, or customer service before travelling.

Do not rely on Reroute alone for time-sensitive travel.

Non-affiliation

Reroute is operated by Reroute Technologies Inc, an independent company. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TTC (Toronto Transit Commission), GO Transit / Metrolinx, YRT (York Region Transit), MiWay (Mississauga Transit), Brampton Transit, Durham Region Transit, UP Express, the City of Toronto, or any other transit agency, municipality, or provincial body. Agency names and logos are displayed descriptively to help users identify services.

Third-party services

Reroute uses the following third-party services to provide its functionality:

Mapbox
Maps, geocoding, driving/walking directions.
Google Gemini
AI chat assistant (chat messages and optional context sent to Google's API).
Clerk
Waitlist and early-access management (email collected on sign-up).
MOTIS
Self-hosted open-source transit routing engine (motis-project.de).
Open-Meteo
Weather data for delay prediction.
Transit feeds
Public GTFS and GTFS-RT feeds from GTA transit agencies.

Their availability, correctness, and terms of service are outside our control. Downtime or errors in these services may cause routes to fail, return no results, or produce inaccurate estimates. For a full list of services that process data, including monitoring and storage providers, see our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • Scrape, mirror, or redistribute the Service in bulk.
  • Attempt to overload the API or bypass rate limits.
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or to harm others.
  • Misrepresent Reroute's output as the official position of any transit agency.
  • Share, expose, or publish your developer API key.
  • Resell or redistribute raw API access.

Developer API

Reroute offers a public API for building on GTA transit data and predictions. If you use it, the following apply in addition to the rules above:

Your key is your credential
Keep it secret, and treat all activity under your key as your responsibility. We may revoke keys that are abused or that violate these terms.
Free tier
Free keys are limited to one per email address and are subject to per-minute and daily request limits.
Pay-as-you-go & billing
A higher-limit pay-as-you-go plan is available. Any cost shown in the app or API is an estimate; billing is arranged manually and invoiced. We do not collect or store credit card or other payment information. We may change pricing, limits, or plans as the API evolves.
Data & attribution
Transit data comes from the agencies' own open feeds; delay and reliability figures are Reroute's own estimates, expressed as a relative risk index rather than a guaranteed percentage. Don't present API output as the official position of any transit agency.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reroute and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or exemplary damages (including missed trips, missed connections, late arrivals, fare miscalculations, lost income, or other losses) arising from your use of or reliance on the Service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Reroute is operated by Reroute Technologies Inc, an Ontario corporation based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
