Common questions

Where does Reroute work?
Reroute plans trips across the GTA, with transit agencies including the TTC, GO Transit, UP Express, MiWay, YRT, Brampton Transit and Durham Region Transit, side by side with driving and walking. Outside that area the app cannot plan from your current location; type a start inside it instead.
How do I delete my account?
In the phone app, signed in: open Settings, then Account, then Delete account, and confirm. It happens straight away and cannot be undone. It removes your saved places and trips, your trip history, your saved Miles chats, your notification settings, bug reports you sent while signed in, and the account itself. If you can't use the app, email privacy@rerouteapp.ca. The full list is under Deleting your account in our privacy policy.
Why does Reroute want my location?
To start a trip from where you are and to show what is nearby. The app asks for location only while you are using it, never “Always”. During a turn-by-turn trip you started, and only then, it keeps receiving your location with the screen locked so guidance does not stop; it stops when the trip ends. You can change this any time in your iPhone's Settings, under Reroute, then Location.
How do I turn notifications off?
Notifications are off until you turn them on. To stop them, open your iPhone's Settings, find Reroute, then Notifications, and switch Allow Notifications off. We never send marketing notifications.
Is Miles always right?
No. Miles is an AI assistant and it can make mistakes. Check the route, times and directions before you rely on them, and never use Miles for anything safety-critical. Don't interact with the app while driving.
Do I need an account?
No. You can plan trips without one. An account keeps your saved places, trips and Miles chats across devices.
