Oakville station serves the town of Oakville, on GO Transit's Lakeshore West line between Clarkson and Bronte. Oakville is one of the more affluent, established commuter communities along the lake, and this station is one of the busier stops on the corridor outside of Toronto itself. The station is wheelchair accessible. Lakeshore West is one of GO's most frequent lines, trains run roughly every half hour through much of the day and more often during peak periods, so Oakville riders generally don't have to plan their trip too far around the schedule. From here, trains run east into Union Station in well under an hour, or continue west toward Bronte, Burlington, Hamilton, and on to St. Catharines and Niagara Falls.
