Clarkson serves the Clarkson neighbourhood of Mississauga, on the Lakeshore West line between Port Credit and Oakville, in a section of the corridor with several stations spaced only a few kilometres apart. Weekday trains start at 5:24 a.m. and run past midnight; weekend service begins later, around 8:08 a.m., and also runs into the early morning hours. Clarkson is a longstanding residential community along the lakeshore, and the station reflects that mix, drawing some riders on foot from nearby streets and others driving in from further inland in Mississauga. It sits close enough to both Port Credit and Oakville that a rider's actual starting point often matters more than which platform looks nearest on a map.
