Line 5 Eglinton is the newest addition to Toronto's rapid transit network, a light rail line running Eglinton Avenue from Mount Dennis in the west to Kennedy in the east, connecting to Line 2. Unlike the older subway lines, Line 5 runs underground through its busy central section before surfacing to run at street level along Eglinton through Scarborough. With 25 stops it's a longer line than Line 4 or the shorter stretches of the original subway, weaving through midtown neighbourhoods like Forest Hill and Leaside before reaching the more industrial eastern end near Golden Mile. It shares two stations, Cedarvale and Eglinton, with Line 1, giving riders a direct transfer between the crosstown LRT and the subway without a bus in between. Reliability data specific to Line 5 isn't available yet, so Reroute doesn't score its delay risk the way it does for the older lines.
