Cedarvale is where Line 1 meets Line 5 Eglinton Crosstown, sitting between St Clair West and Glencairn on the Yonge-University line. The name is newer than the station itself: this stop used to be called Eglinton West before the Crosstown opened, and TTC renamed it to avoid confusing riders with the separate Eglinton West stop further along Line 5. Above ground, Cedarvale Park and its ravine give the area its name and its green space, a break from the denser blocks closer to the Yonge corridor. As an interchange, it's a genuine time-saver for anyone crossing between the two lines without detouring down to a busier hub, and Reroute weighs that transfer against sticking to one line longer whenever a trip actually crosses both.

Delay risk
Line 1 Yonge–University's incident rate runs about 1.4× the GTA-wide baseline, built from public TTC delay history — a comparison of incident rates, not the odds your specific trip is delayed.
Reroute's incident index is built from the public TTC delay log; Line 5 Eglinton doesn't have enough logged history for a fair comparison.
