Kennedy is the busiest interchange in the east end, where Line 2 meets Line 5 Eglinton Crosstown and connects directly to GO Transit for riders heading further out along the regional rail corridors. It used to be a triple subway interchange too, with the now-closed Line 3 Scarborough RT terminating here before that line shut down in 2023, and the station's layout still reflects having handled three separate services at once. That combination of subway, light rail, and regional rail makes Kennedy one of the more consequential stops for anyone travelling between Scarborough and the rest of the city.
