Mount Joy station is in the city of Markham, on GO Transit's Stouffville line between Markham station and Stouffville station. The name comes from the historic Mount Joy community that once stood in this part of Markham before the area was absorbed into the growing city. It's one of the busier stops in the eastern half of the corridor, since Markham's population has grown substantially north and east of the older downtown core. The station is wheelchair accessible. Stouffville line service runs seven days a week here, weekday trains start just after 5 a.m., and weekend departures begin a little after 7 a.m., both running well into the evening, so Mount Joy has more all-day usefulness than some of GO's strictly peak-focused corridors. Reroute plans trips through Mount Joy against every other option, GO train, driving, or a transfer at Union, rather than defaulting to one.
