Markham station is in the city of Markham, on GO Transit's Stouffville line between Centennial and Mount Joy. It's one of several stops the line makes as it runs through Markham on its way from Union Station out to Old Elm, alongside Unionville and Centennial nearby. Markham has grown into one of the largest municipalities in the GTA outside Toronto proper, and this station gives residents in the eastern part of the city a direct rail link into downtown. The station is wheelchair accessible. From here, Stouffville line trains run both toward Union and further northeast toward Stouffville and Old Elm. Reroute plans the connection at Union into the rest of the GO network, the TTC subway, or UP Express automatically, so the transfer is already worked out.
