Appleby serves Burlington's eastern end on the Lakeshore West line, between Bronte and Burlington GO, in a stretch of the corridor where stations sit close enough together that many riders could plausibly choose between two of them depending on where they're headed. Weekday trains start at 5:05 a.m. and run past midnight; weekend service begins later, at 7:48 a.m. Reroute compares Appleby against its neighbouring stations when it plans a trip, since which one actually saves time depends on where a rider starts from and which direction they're travelling, not just on which platform happens to be closest to home.
