Lawrence West sits below the Allen Road at Lawrence Avenue West, between Glencairn and Yorkdale on Line 1, serving the corridor that runs north from Eglinton toward Highway 401. Unlike the Yonge Street stations further east, this stretch of the line runs beneath the Allen Road expressway rather than a retail street, so the station feels more like a transit interchange than a neighbourhood stop. Buses along Lawrence Avenue connect west toward Keele and Weston and east into the Bathurst Manor area, making it a useful transfer point for anyone not headed straight downtown. It's also one stop short of Yorkdale Shopping Centre, so shoppers arriving from the west end often change here rather than riding all the way to the mall's own station.

Delay risk

Line 1 Yonge–University's incident rate runs about 1.4× the GTA-wide baseline, built from public TTC delay history — a comparison of incident rates, not the odds your specific trip is delayed.
