Dupont station sits on Line 1 in the Annex, between Spadina and St Clair West, and it's the closest subway stop to Casa Loma, the hilltop castle a steep uphill walk to the north. The station itself is a fairly modest single-line stop, serving a mostly residential stretch of the Annex and Wychwood, without the transfer traffic of the bigger interchanges further along the line. That Casa Loma connection is genuinely useful, since the castle sits well outside the distance most visitors expect to walk from a subway stop. Reroute surfaces Dupont automatically for any trip ending near the castle or the surrounding parkland, comparing the uphill walk against a short bus ride if the incline makes the direct route less appealing.

Delay risk

Line 1 Yonge–University's incident rate runs about 1.4× the GTA-wide baseline, built from public TTC delay history — a comparison of incident rates, not the odds your specific trip is delayed.
