Bay station is a single-line stop on Line 2, buried under Bay Street between St George and Bloor-Yonge, right in the middle of the financial and shopping core near Yorkville. What makes it more than an ordinary stop is what's beneath it: a second, unused platform built for a short-lived service pattern in the 1960s, now known as Lower Bay, closed to riders but regularly rented out as a filming location for its uncannily realistic subway look. The platform actually in use today is straightforward, serving Line 2 riders heading toward St George for a Line 1 transfer or east toward Bloor-Yonge. Reroute can route through Bay as part of any downtown trip, weighing it against walking or a quick streetcar hop when the distance barely justifies going underground at all.

Delay risk

Line 2 Bloor–Danforth's incident rate runs about 1.0× the GTA-wide baseline, built from public TTC delay history — a comparison of incident rates, not the odds your specific trip is delayed.
