King City serves King Township on the Barrie line, between Maple and Aurora, in one of the more rural stretches of the corridor north of Toronto. Weekday trains run from 5:48 a.m. to 11:35 p.m.; weekend service is available too, starting at 8:02 a.m. and finishing around 11:34 p.m., neither schedule stretching past midnight the way stations closer to Barrie do. King Township remains largely low-density outside its village centres, and the station reflects that character, drawing riders who drive in from surrounding rural roads rather than walking from a dense downtown. It's a useful stop for anyone commuting between King City and Toronto without wanting to drive the full distance south.
