Wilson station sits at the Allen Road and Wilson Avenue, between Yorkdale and Sheppard West on Line 1, right next to the Wilson Yard, the TTC's main subway maintenance and storage facility where much of the fleet is serviced overnight. That proximity makes it a fairly utilitarian stop, more infrastructure hub than neighbourhood destination, though it still serves the surrounding North York residential streets and connects to buses running along Wilson Avenue. The station sits below the Allen Road expressway, similar in feel to nearby Lawrence West, with an entrance designed around the flow of traffic rather than a walkable main street. Reroute plans through Wilson as a stop on the northern stretch of Line 1, between the Yorkdale shopping area and the Sheppard corridor further north.
