Vaughan Metropolitan Centre is the northern terminus of Line 1, and the only TTC subway station outside Toronto proper, sitting in the city of Vaughan in York Region rather than within Toronto's own boundaries. It opened as part of the extension that also added Highway 407, Pioneer Village, York University, and Downsview Park, built to serve a planned downtown for Vaughan that's still filling in around the station with office towers and condos. Compared to the older stations further south, it feels distinctly new, a large glass-and-steel structure designed as much as a civic landmark as a transit stop. Reroute plans it as the far end of the Yonge-University line, useful for anyone commuting between York Region and Toronto without needing a car or a GO bus.
