Summerhill station sits beneath Yonge Street between St Clair and Rosedale, but the real landmark here is above ground: the old North Toronto railway station, a grand early-20th-century Canadian Pacific building with a landmark clock tower that once handled intercity trains and now houses a large LCBO. The subway station itself is a much plainer affair, tucked below the surface with none of the grandeur of the building overhead, serving the quiet, affluent streets of Summerhill and south Rosedale. It's a low-key stop without much commercial activity beyond the LCBO itself, drawing mostly local residents rather than commuters passing through. Reroute plans through it on the Yonge corridor between St Clair and Rosedale, a straightforward link in a mostly residential stretch of Line 1.
