St Andrew station sits at University Avenue and King Street, between Union and Osgoode on Line 1, right at the seam between the Financial District's office towers and the Entertainment District's theatres and restaurants further west. Roy Thomson Hall sits directly above one of its entrances, and the surrounding blocks are dense with banks, law firms, and the King streetcar corridor that runs perpendicular to the subway below. It's a heavily used weekday stop, filling up fast at rush hour with commuters headed to the office towers above, and quieter on evenings when the theatre and concert crowd takes over instead. Reroute weighs St Andrew against Union and Osgoode for downtown trips, since all three sit close enough together that the shortest walk often decides which one wins.
