Spadina station is one of the network's interchange points, where Line 1 and Line 2 cross at Spadina Avenue and Bloor Street West, on the edge of the Annex and a short walk from the University of Toronto's downtown campus. Unlike Bloor-Yonge, the transfer here runs through a longer connecting corridor rather than a shared platform, so it takes a bit more walking to switch lines. The surrounding blocks mix student housing, university buildings, and the shops along Bloor and Spadina, giving the station steady traffic throughout the day rather than sharp commuter peaks alone. Reroute weighs the Spadina transfer against the shorter cross-platform switch at Bloor-Yonge or St George when planning a route that needs to move between Line 1 and Line 2.
