Sherbourne station sits at Sherbourne Street and Bloor Street East, between Bloor-Yonge and Castle Frank on Line 2, at the point where the tidy streets of Rosedale give way to the older, denser blocks of Cabbagetown and St James Town just to the south. It's a fairly quiet stop by downtown standards, mostly serving the surrounding residential towers rather than any retail strip, with bus connections running south into St James Town and toward the Don Valley. The station's plain, functional design is typical of the stretch of Line 2 built through this part of the city decades ago. Reroute plans through Sherbourne as one stop east of the busy Bloor-Yonge interchange, often the quieter alternative when a trip's actual destination sits a short walk from either station.
