Pioneer Village station sits at Jane Street near Steeles Avenue, between York University and Highway 407 on Line 1, named for the Black Creek Pioneer Village living-history museum a short distance to the west, which recreates a 19th-century Ontario settlement along the same creek. It's one of several stations added when the line extended north into Vaughan, serving a mix of newer residential development and industrial land along Jane Street rather than an established commercial strip. Most riders here are connecting to buses running along Jane or Steeles rather than walking to a specific destination, since the pioneer village itself is a bus ride or drive from the platform. Reroute includes it in the northern extension of the Yonge-University line, alongside York University, Highway 407, and Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.
