King station serves Line 1 at King Street and University Avenue, right in the heart of the Financial District, and it's one of the few downtown stops that isn't wheelchair accessible, which matters when planning a step-free route through the core. It sits between Queen and Union, in a stretch of Line 1 that runs beneath some of the densest office towers in the city, so ridership here leans heavily toward weekday commuter traffic rather than a steady all-day flow. The surrounding blocks are mostly bank towers and office buildings, with the entertainment district a short walk to the west. Choosing between King, Union, and Queen for a Financial District trip often comes down to nothing more than which side of the block the actual destination sits on.
