Islington station serves Line 2 at Islington Avenue in Etobicoke, sitting between Kipling and Royal York toward the western end of the Bloor-Danforth line. It's a single-line stop without an interchange, and it isn't wheelchair accessible, which matters for planning a step-free trip through this part of the city. The surrounding area is a mix of residential streets and mid-rise apartment buildings along Bloor Street, quieter than the retail-heavy stretch closer to downtown on this same line. For riders in Etobicoke, Islington is usually a straightforward link into the rest of the subway network rather than a destination in itself. Anyone planning a step-free route through this part of Etobicoke is usually better off checking a neighbouring station first, since Islington won't always be the right stop for that kind of trip.
