Highway 407 station sits near the northern end of Line 1, one stop south of the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre terminus and named for the highway it sits beside rather than any particular neighbourhood landmark. It functions largely as a park-and-ride style station for drivers coming off the 407 corridor, feeding them onto the subway for the trip south into the city rather than continuing to drive downtown. The area immediately around it is still fairly low-density compared to stations further along Line 1, reflecting how much newer this northern stretch of the network is than the rest of it. Reroute includes it in any trip planning search touching the Vaughan corridor, comparing the drive-then-subway combination against driving the whole way when traffic on the highway makes the swap worthwhile.
