Glencairn is a Line 1 station between Cedarvale and Lawrence West, sitting near the boundary between Forest Hill and the residential streets that spread out from Bathurst Street to the west. It's a single-line stop, and the area above ground is quiet and mostly low-rise, without the commercial pull of the bigger intersections further south on Line 1. The Cedarvale ravine isn't far, giving the neighbourhood some green space even though the station itself doesn't sit directly on it the way Cedarvale station does one stop south. For riders in this part of midtown, Glencairn is usually the most direct subway option, though a short walking or bus route can sometimes still beat it for the shortest of local trips.
