Eglinton station is where Line 1 meets Line 5 Eglinton Crosstown, right under the intersection most Torontonians just call Yonge and Eg, one of the busier commercial hubs outside the downtown core. It also connects to GO Transit, giving riders a third option beyond the two subway lines for trips heading further out along the rail corridor. That combination, two subway lines and a regional rail connection, makes Eglinton one of the more consequential interchanges north of Bloor-Yonge, and it has only gotten busier as more of the Crosstown settles into regular use. Reroute treats it as a real decision point rather than a simple pass-through stop, weighing whether transferring here actually beats staying on one line longer depending on where a trip is headed.
