Bayview station serves Line 4 Sheppard at Bayview Avenue, in the North York stretch between Sheppard-Yonge and Bessarion. The neighbourhood above is mostly mid-rise condos and the Bayview Village area to the north, a quieter pocket of the city than the Yonge corridor a few stops west. Line 4 itself is short, just a handful of stations connecting Sheppard-Yonge across to Don Mills, so Bayview rarely sees the crowding that piles up on Line 1 or Line 2 at rush hour. It's a useful midpoint stop for anyone working along Sheppard Avenue East without needing to detour down to Yonge Street first. For most trips along Sheppard Avenue East, the short subway hop is faster than staying on the surface, though the difference narrows fast once both ends of the trip sit close to the street itself.
