Stratford is the western terminus of GO Transit's Kitchener line, the last stop after Kitchener itself on a corridor that runs all the way from Union Station out through Brampton, Guelph, and Kitchener into southwestern Ontario. It's the single furthest station from downtown Toronto on any GO rail line. Stratford is best known outside the GTA as home to the Stratford Festival, a major theatre festival, and this station is one of the more practical ways to reach it without driving. Weekend service is considerably lighter than the weekday schedule, running over a shorter window in the middle of the day rather than the full weekday span. The station is wheelchair accessible. From Stratford, the entire Kitchener line runs back toward Union, calling at Kitchener, Guelph Central, Georgetown, and every stop in between.
