St. Catharines station serves the city of St. Catharines in the Niagara region, on GO Transit's Lakeshore West line between West Harbour and Niagara Falls. It's one of two stops added to the corridor's southwestern extension beyond Hamilton, the other being Niagara Falls itself, and the ride from here into Union Station covers most of the length of Lake Ontario's western shore. Weekend service is noticeably reduced compared to weekdays, trains start later in the morning and stop running earlier in the evening, reflecting how far this stretch sits from the core of the network. The station is wheelchair accessible. For Niagara region residents without a car, St. Catharines is the closest direct rail link into downtown Toronto.
