Pickering station serves the city of Pickering, on GO Transit's Lakeshore East line between Rouge Hill and Ajax. It's one of the main rail links for Durham Region commuters heading into downtown Toronto, sitting just east of the Scarborough boundary along the lake. The station is wheelchair accessible. Lakeshore East runs frequently through this stretch, trains come roughly every half hour for much of the day and more often during peak periods, making Pickering a practical option for people who don't want to drive the 401 into the city. From here, trains run west through Scarborough into Union Station, or continue east toward Ajax, Whitby, and Oshawa, covering most of Durham Region's commuter rail needs. Reroute plans the Pickering leg against driving the 401 for the same trip, so the faster option is clear before you leave the house.
