East Gwillimbury sits on the Barrie line between Newmarket and Bradford, serving a mostly rural and residential municipality in York Region's northern reaches. Weekday trains run from 5:25 a.m. to 11:57 p.m.; weekend service is available too, starting around 7:40 a.m. and finishing by 11:56 p.m., with neither schedule stretching past midnight the way some stations further along the line do. Reroute treats East Gwillimbury like any other stop on the corridor, comparing the drive-and-ride option against driving the whole way to Toronto, since a station this far out often makes more sense as a park-and-ride connection than as a walkable destination for most of the surrounding community.
