Cooksville sits on GO's Milton line in Mississauga, between Dixie and Erindale, one of several closely spaced stops on a corridor that runs almost entirely on weekday, peak-direction service. Trains here run from 6:31 a.m. to 7:39 p.m. on weekdays only; there's no scheduled weekend rail service on this stretch of track, which sets Cooksville apart from stations on the Lakeshore lines that run trains every day. That makes it a genuine commuter-hours stop rather than an all-purpose transit hub, built for the specific rhythm of getting Mississauga residents into Toronto in the morning and back out again in the evening, with little in the way of off-peak or weekend rail service to rely on otherwise.
